Raised around the art of tattooing, Matt has always had a love for the craft. He began tattooing in 2009 and quickly developed a love for black and gray realism. In recent years he has been working on expanding his skills in illustrative, bold color, and complex geometric patterns. After working for several shops in Grand Rapids, tattoo conventions through out the country and being a guest artist at numerous shops in the US, he decided to open Lightning Revival Tattoo Company in Byron Center in 2014. He believes in surrounding himself with like minded artists that want to produce the best possible art. He has won multiple awards for his black and gray work and his work has been featured in tattoo publications. Though he is most know for realism, he is passionate for all tattoo styles and love pushing the boundary of what can be done.
